Accessing Videos

If your organisation does not typically block videos, then the videos on the CybSafe platform should work. If not, try taking the following steps to resolve the issue: 

  1. We host our videos on Vimeo. As such, you may need to arrange for the following domains to be allow-listed in your servers for CybSafe videos to play (you may need your IT department to help with this):

Internet Explorer

  1. If you’re using Internet Explorer, click the “Tools” icon in the upper-right corner, and then click “Internet Options”.
  2. Click the “Advanced” tab
  3. Under the “Accelerated graphics” heading, select the “Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering*” checkbox.'
  4. Finally, click “Apply”.

Google Chrome

  1. To disable hardware acceleration on Google Chrome browsers, first click the three dots in the top right hand corner of your browser. 
  2. Next, hit “Settings”.
  3. Scroll down the page and click “Advanced”.
  4. Next, scroll down to the “System” section.
  5. Disable hardware acceleration by clicking the blue toggle next to “Use hardware acceleration when available”.
  6. Finally, restart Google Chrome.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. To disable hardware acceleration on Mozilla Firefox browsers, click the three lines in the top right hand corner of your browser then click “Preferences”.
  2. Scroll down to the “Performance” heading, then uncheck “Use recommended performance settings”.
  3. Next, uncheck “Use hardware acceleration when available”.
  4. Click the menu button and then click “Exit”.
  5. Finally, restart Firefox.

Safari

  1. To disable hardware acceleration on Mozilla Firefox browsers, first, go to “Preferences”.
  2. Select the “Advanced” tab.
  3. Ensure that the “Show Develop menu in menu bar” checkbox is checked.
  4. Next, click “Develop” to open the Develop menu at the top of the screen
  5. Finally, ensure “WebGL” is unchecked (you may need to first hover over “Experimental Features” to do so).

Microsoft Edge

  1. To disable hardware acceleration in Microsoft Edge, launch this website.
  2. Locate and click the “Test Flash Player” button.
  3. Right-click on the image below the “Test Flash Player” button, and then select “Settings”.
  4. Uncheck “Enable hardware acceleration”, and then click “Close”.
  5. Finally, restart Edge
